Eye-liner Pencil or traditional Indian Kajal?

Sometimes a good make-up is simple. It does not require a lot. I am happy with a little eye-shadow and a good eye-liner or kajal.
I used to buy a lot of very expensive eye-liner and some were not very smooth and easy to put on. Now I am trying for the first time a new eye-liner brand from Hong Kong. It has no brand name on it and it feels great!

The pencil is easy and way better to handle for me than the eye liner brush! What a time consuming drama! LOL

You see even when I do my make-up lace making is not far away! LOL

I am exited to try out the Blue Heaven Kajal from India. It's organic, and feels great on the skin. Very smooth and soft!

What do you like to use? Eye-liner  pencil, liquid , traditional Indian Kajal, brush, etc....

XO,
Lorena

Every design has a story.....Avis Argentum

Every design has a story......
For me it all starts with a mood board

After the mood board is created, colours melt and thread is ready to be used a title needs to be given...

Since I am working on a very special limited collection inspired by Australian Birds,
I decided to call this unique piece
Avis Argentum

I love working with high quality threads like silver cords and silk elements so to me it was natural to call the statement piece Avis Argentum, - silver bird

Step by step the design takes shape and each moment closer to the end product is a journey every designer is keen to explore, from exiting new ideas, experiments, materials and of course quality checks!

Every product out there deserves to be unique and to shine, this is only possible with quality control!
When it comes to jewellery, some products are simply a pain and you see that it was made in a hurry and not much love was put into.

Each product I offer when to a very strict quality check.
I would never offer a product that I would not wear myself- this is called self-respect!

You need to respect your client like you would respect yourself!
Every single piece is checked over and over again so the customer can receive the highest quality product.
It needs to be original, in perfect condition and fun!

Step by step it will be checked for design, thread quality, neatness, etc... only the best materials will be used to create each piece.
The stones are picked with care and have significance, the colour combo and design will have a theme that stand out and the feel good sensation is a bonus!

You an be sure, that if you buy from us you not only buy quality, you buy an experience, a unique product that last!

Workmanship and an eye for details are our goal!
We all want to have something special and feel special, a piece of jewellery can make you feel special!

If you are interested in more Avis Australis designs, please visit the Etsy Shop for unique designs.
Custom orders are welcome!

So make a statement!

XOXO,
Lorena

PS: All necklaces are 50%off at the moment, so hurry and grab a bargain!

Avis Australia in fuchsia....

Starting a new collection is always exiting and I a new challenge for me as a designer.
It's a fun process to create a mood board and get inspired by the beautiful nature of Australia.

This collection is called Avis Australis and is inspired by the gorgeous, bold and colourful birds of Australia.

I love to mix up different techniques like Romanian Point Lace of course with embroidery and crochet.

And quality control is a must before taking it of the calico!

E voilà, the end finished necklace is available in my Etsy Shop

Check it out and let me know what you think!

34.... simply a number?

Today .... a different post.
I normally don;t talk about myself and let my art and designs lead this blog.
Friday I turned 34.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Is is simply a number or do I feel 34?

I believed turning 30 would change something..... you get older and wiser.... you see things differently.
The answer: Yes and No!

I can tell you only a few things that I learned over the years!

Believe in yourself  because you are better than you think!
Give yourself more credit for what you do and be confident! You are in your life exactly where you suppose to be.

Enjoy moments.... this is what you will remain with moments.

Yesterday we celebrated- nice company and a great time. Music, food to remember, a good glass of wine and a dessert to die for.
No, I'm not talking here only about food! It's a lifestyle- enjoy the taste of exquisite food and drinks and connect them with beautiful memories that you can cherish forever. This is what life is about. Carpe Diem!

Find a way to start  your day with fun!

Yes, you read right - do something fun and your day will be better. You want to know what I do? I enjoy a good cup of tea or coffee, take a hot bath, listen to music and my day has already a god start. Dance when you brush! Smile! Bake something fun!
Knit, Crochet or Romanian Point Lace! Sorry that's just me!

I woke up yesterday finding out that I have 700Likes on my Romanian Point Lace Designs Page....
Good so people like what I do!
I'm on the right direction.... stick to your plan and go for it!
Oh please go and visit and if you like what I do leave me a message and like my work!

Since I reached so many likes I would like to thank one of you with a little accessory that I create!
Comment on this blogpost and let me know how you feel!
Like  my page and comment on it!
Visit my  shop and give me some feedback! It;s much appreciated!

Do what you feel is right for you! Eat what is right for you and not because somebody is telling you what is best. I recently changed my nutrition and I feel great- way to go Paleo!  I am at my dream weight 55 kg and rocking at!
If you want to know how I did it, let me know and I will write some posts about!

Speeding is pointless!
It makes no sense. You will get there when you are suppose to!

Don;t forget the engine that runs you is your mind! Make sure your thoughts are yours and not mumble jumble  that makes somebody else happy!

Life is a precious gift and can be taken at any time!

Laugh, think, make a difference, enjoy your life and explore your passion.
Dream big and don't try to please everybody!

I used to believe that I need to make everybody happy and stressed myself out for nothing. I stopped doing this because life is toooooooooooooo short to make people happy who do not want to be happy and do not even appreciate it when you try it. C'est la vie!
Remember one thing!

In love with handmade ....

Handmade was born with us.... it's part of us and who we are as  human beings. To create and always try to be unique is like a must.  The business of handmade is maybe not what it was centuries ago but it's still a magic process.

You start with a skein of thread and you create fabric, cords and as an end result an original.....

What attacks you to handmade?
Do you appreciate a handmade product these days and would you consider paying more for an item that somebody worked for days to complete just for you?

I am working on a new piece of jewellery and every single element of it it's pure handmade.
I Love working with my hands and to create a new item out of simple but so precious thread is a fascinating process to me.

Tell me you hand made story!

Agate and ancient Romanian Point Lace

As I started to work on this piece and having in mind to work with semi-precious  stones, agate was always a stone, that attracted me.
Picking up this stone I did not know it would turn into a pendant.
All I know is that it needed to be mixed up with some ancient Romanian Point Lace elements.

Agate is a stone of strength. It was used by the Ancients on the breastplates of armour to give warriors strength and make them victorious in battle. Energetically, it is considered to give strength in both battle and physically.

Wear it and you feel protected, Agate enhances creativity and strengthens the intellect, making it a beneficial stone for both students and artists. It is also known as a good luck stone. As a stone of harmony, one of the things agate does is balance yin/yang energy. Agate increases energy.
Agate can cleanse and stabilize the aura by removing and/or transforming negative energy.

Pink is such a powerful, vibrant colour and emerald green is hopeful, fun, fresh and positive.

If you want to own this pendant, visit the Shop and this green pink pendant, can do magic on you!

Enjoy and Happy Monday!

A touch of vintage

I have been working for quite some time on this canary yellow 40s inspired pullover and now it;s time to introduce it to the world.
Originally it was for a musical and as I was doing research and collected   information on the topic, I contacted Jessica, who has a wonderful blog and Etsy Shop for some inspiration and advice on the 40s.

After navigating her blog, searching for 40s style and getting in the mood for a new creative adventure, this canary yellow piece came together.
The handmade design includes purl knitting and Romanian Point Lace elements with beautiful classic chic faux tear drop and round pearls.
I have to admit that it took me some time to fall in love with the 40s. I'm more a 20s, 30s and 50s girl if I think of vintage but it kinda grew on me.
The peplum top has a traditional border with hand made lace appliqué and a strong cord border.
The back is simple, elegant and has metal snaps like they were used in the 40s.

I'm not longer part of this project, I guess it was not meant to be for me. It buried me down as a designer and I could not really express what needed to be done to make it great and to make it a success, so I had to leave. Looking back now I'm happy because I can do what I feel is good and right to give the 40s inspiration a great homage.

The details of this piece are on top of the small cap sleeves embellished with Romanian Point Lace and faux pearls.

I needed to keep the knitting simple but still having an effect on it the purl design was the best choice,
It turned out beautiful.
I hope you don't mind my jeans but my high waist black skirt is in the storage!
It was made for a medium size actress, so you see it;s a but large on me.
I will have it soon in my Romanian Point Lace and Crochet Shop for sale shortly after the weekend.
So drop by!

Let me know what you think about this little piece, would you buy it, where would you wear it and how  much would you spend on it, knowing that you are the only one on the planet having it?!

Enjoy!
